Practice Manager Development Coaching and Mentoring Support – Expression of Interest

Closed 21 Jan 2019

Opened 14 Dec 2018

Overview

As part of our GPFV Practice Manager development programme NHS England has commissioned Beyond Coaching (provider) to provide coaching and mentoring support to Practice Managers across England who are playing a key role in supporting practices experiencing challenges, assisting change/improvement in general practice including new ways of working and contributing to redesigning care for the future.

Practice Managers will have three FREE 90-minute confidential coaching and/or mentoring sessions with highly experienced and qualified Coach Mentors with extensive experience in leadership and management development to provide headspace to work through their current challenges and opportunities. This support is a forward-looking, action-orientated, positive and personal approach. The 3 coaching and mentoring sessions will likely take place from January 2019.

The individual coaching and mentoring will support PMs to:

  • Create time and space to stand back and think in a confidential environment
  • Develop further self-awareness and new skills to maximise their potential
  • Gain personal insight in helping make decisions
  • Improve understanding of options to move forward
  • Build their levels of confidence and resilience
  • Learn powerful models and techniques to help achieve their goals.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from Practice Managers interested in taking up this Coaching and Mentoring Programme. We have a limited number of places available for Practice Managers to be able to access 3 one-to-one personal and confidential coaching and/or mentoring sessions. In some cases, a fourth session may be arranged, but will depend on progress during the first three sessions. Further information will be provided following a successful application to the programme.

The information collated from this expression of interest will enable our Beyond Coaching to:

  • assess the suitability of the challenges Practice Managers’ want to work on to participate in this Practice Manager Coaching and Mentoring programme,
  • match Practice Managers to appropriate Coaches and Mentors and
  • undertake anonymised data analysis for monitoring and evaluation of impact of coaching and evaluation for NHS England

NHS England may also contact successful participants as part of an independent evaluation.

We are keen to support you via our Coaching and Mentoring programme and if you are interested in taking up this opportunity please complete this on-line ‘Expression of Interest’ by Monday 21 January 2019. This questionnaire should take less than 15 minutes to complete.

Please find enclosed further detail regarding the privacy of information you provide to us. Please also be aware that the information you provide to us for the purposes of this programme will remain confidential.
