Overview

Application form: NHS England - Independent Advisory and Oversight Group.

NHS England is committed to ensuring that public and patient voices are at the centre of shaping our healthcare services. Every level of our commissioning system needs to be informed by listening to those who use and care about our services.

NHS England - Independent Advisory and Oversight Group

NHS England is looking for two expert advisers to sit on a mental health advisory group chaired by Paul Farmer, Chief Executive of Mind. This group provides oversight of the delivery of our commitments in the mental health strategy document, the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health. The group will work alongside NHS England’s Five Year Forward View programme board and provide input into specific workstreams to help us to deliver our ambitions for improving mental health services for people of all ages and in all parts of the country. This group also has a pivotal role in the development of the Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Improvement and Assessment Framework for mental health, through which CCGs will be able to benchmark their progress in improving the quality and availability of services for people with mental health needs. Other members of the panel include representatives from the voluntary sector, NHS Trusts, commissioners and professional bodies.

Membership of the group is for 12 months initially, at which point membership will be reviewed.

The closing date for applications is midnight 27 April 2017. Interviews (lasting 20 mins) will be held on 12 May 2017.

NHS England wants to ensure that its PPV advisers are representative of the population and that a wide range of people are appointed to these roles. For this reason, members of the public can hold a maximum of two paid roles on NHS England standing groups or committees that are a formal part of the structure and attract a participation payment.
