Central flu procurement and supply - provider engagement
Overview
The current model of adult flu vaccine procurement for the adult national influenza immunisation programme is unique; all other vaccines including the children’s flu vaccine (except for Hep B for at risk babies) are procured and distributed centrally.
The NHS England Vaccination Strategy 2023 seeks to improve the efficiency and responsiveness of vaccine supply and one way to do this, is to consider the potential impact of centralising the procurement of adult flu vaccines.
NHS England would like to understand from providers of the service, their current procurement model and how this supports delivery of the flu programme. We would also like to understand provider thoughts on the potential benefits and challenges of a centralised procurement model.
Providers are invited to complete this questionnaire to provide their feedback. The responses are anonymous and will not be published. You do not need to respond to all questions in the questionnaire to be able to submit your responses. However, we would be grateful if you could answer as many questions as possible. There are 27 questions in total which should take you 15-20 minutes to complete.
