Specialised Services clinical commissioning policies and service specification - Wave 13
Overview
NHS England ran a 30 day consultation on 'Tenofovir Alafenamide for treatment of HIV 1 in adults and adolescents' and 'Treatment of iron overload for transfused and non transfused patients with chronic inherited anaemias' early this year. The following documents that were part of the original suite of documents posted online as part of the consultation were incomplete:
- Evidence Review: Comparison between tenofovir alafenamide and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate.
- Evidence review: Iron chelation therapy in transfused and non-transfused patients with chronic anaemias: thalassaemia and sickle-cell disease.
As a result we are re-running this consultation. We will be contacting all registered stakeholders of the relevant Clinical Reference Group, and all those who responded to the original consultation to give people the opportunity to revise their consultation response or submit a new response if they wish to do so. We have reviewed responses received to date and where appropriate have made some further clarifications to the draft policy proposition.
NHS England will put in place a mechanism to ensure that the commissioning of this policy can be considered as part of the annual prioritisation round without prejudice to the need to re-run the consultation.
