Expressions of interest in the NHS Assembly

Overview

We invite expressions of interest to become a member of the NHS assembly.
Following the recent publication of the NHS Long Term Plan, NHS England and NHS Improvement are inviting expressions of interest to become a member of the new NHS Assembly.

Building on the collaborative approach to developing the NHS Long Term Plan, the NHS Assembly is a new national forum that will regularly bring together a range of stakeholders from across the health and care system to advise the boards of NHS England and NHS Improvement as part of a "guiding coalition" to support the implementation of the NHS Long Term Plan.

The Assembly will be formed of around fifty individuals, drawn from national and frontline clinical leaders, patient leaders, staff representatives, health and care system leaders and voluntary, community and social enterprise sector leaders, who will bring their experience, knowledge and links to wider networks to inform the discussion and debate of the Assembly.

We are seeking innovators and leaders (although you do not need to be in a leadership position) to bring energy and creative thinking to the assembly. You should have a demonstrable commitment to the values of the NHS, have experience of operating at a regional or national level or as part of a wider network, and be prepared to work collaboratively with other assembly members.

What happens next

There are a limited number of membership places and we are expecting a high level of interest. All expressions of interest will be considered and members appointed based on their individual knowledge, skills and experience. To ensure a variety of experience we will look to appoint a balanced and diverse membership drawing from across different stakeholder groups. We will notify you of the outcome of your submission by the end of March 2019. We may contact you before then to arrange an interview.
