Maternity Transformation Programme: Harnessing Digital Technology Survey

Closed 28 Feb 2017

Opened 19 Oct 2016

Overview

Following the publication of the National Maternity Review – Better Births – in February 2016, NHS England set up a Maternity Transformation Programme to implement the recommendations of Better Births. View the scope of the Maternity Transformation Programme.

Better Births makes a number of recommendations for maternity services across England to become safer, more personalised, kinder, professional and more family friendly; where every woman has access to information to enable her to make decisions about her care; and where she and her baby can access support that is centred on their individual needs and circumstances. It also calls for all staff to be supported to deliver care which is women centred, working in high performing teams, in organisations which are well led and in cultures which promote innovation, continuous learning, and break down organisational and professional boundaries.
Better Births recognises the importance of harnessing digital technology and makes recommendations on the use of digital technology to assist health professionals working in Maternity to provide a high quality service to women, with an emphasis on improved personalisation and choice.

We now need to provide a fuller description of the kinds of digital services required to support Maternity and are initiating a three month consultation period with interested stakeholders to define those services.

We are keen to have the views of those who collect, access, use or hold maternity information in a professional capacity. Clicking the link below will take you to a form which askes about your experiences with and ideas for digital services in Maternity.
You can provide feedback to us without the need to enter any personal details.

Why your views matter

The sections for feedback on this page begin by asking you about positive experiences of using information. This is deliberate, as focusing on the positive - what we can and already do well and what you value – helps us identify areas we can build on to quickly innovate and improve our services.

We are also interested in overcoming the problems, frustrations and obstacles you experience when dealing with aspects of technology and information sharing and the feedback sections for this are towards the end of the page.

All sections for feedback are optional, you do not have to comment in each one.
Firstly, to help us understand the background to your feedback, please select which of the following groups you may belong to (this is the only field you must enter a choice into):

The data collection from this survey will be used to inform the digital strategy for the maternity transformation programme. Feedback is collected anonymously’
