Overview

Following a three month consultation on two service specifications for the Adult Secure Low and Medium Mental Health Services, NHS England has now published the consultation outcome report.

NHS England has launched a consultation on the two new service specifications (and two separate appendices) for the Adult Secure Low and Medium Mental Health Services

These specifications have been developed and tested with the support of lead clinicians and patient and public representatives. This approach has ensured that the views of stakeholders have informed the development throughout the process.

To support the engagement of the consultation NHS England are:

  • A national face to face event aimed at clinicians, providers, local CCGs and Local Authority commissioners, Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service and Department of Health. This event will be held on Tuesday 14 March 2017 at Avonmouth House, 6 Avonmouth Street, London SE1 6NX. To register please email england.specmh@nhs.net

In partnership with Rethink we have organised two Forensic Carer Events on the:

  1. Tuesday 14 February, 10am - 4.00pmLondon,  Etc.venues, 1 Drummond Gate, Pimlico, London, SW1V 2QQ (see here for directions)
  2. Tuesday 21 February, 10am - 4.00pm – Manchester, The Studio Manchester, The Hive, 51 Lever Street, Manchester, M1 1FN (see here for directions)

Attendance is free for carers and their supporters and lunch is provided. Travel expenses are paid in line with NHS England's expenses policy.

In addition to these two events Rethink, through the Adult Secure Service User Recovery and Outcome Groups, will be hosting events throughout March 2017, aimed at secure service users and staff, in different geographical locations throughout England.

The closing date for responses to the consultation is 11 May 2017.
